Join the RAA San Diego chapter as we learn about one of the most fascinating airplane accidents in history through this virtual event!

In 1971, a 17 year old teenager boarded a flight from Lima Peru to Pucallpa. It was LANSA flight 508 and it broke apart at 10,000 feet after being struck by lightning. Juliane Koepcke was among many passengers who fell from the sky, but she was the only survivor. She wandered thru the Amazon for 11 days before finding civilization and safety. Come learn about how this accident happened, what changes it brought to the aviation industry, and how one young woman defied all odds.

This virtual event will be held via Zoom. Connection details will be provided in your confirmation email when you register.
