 RPI alumnus David Ferrucci, Ph.D. '94, IBM’s lead scientist on the Watson Computer project, will present a discussion on how Watson was built by a team of IBM researchers who set out to accomplish a grand challenge––build a computing system that rivals a human’s ability to answer questions posed in natural language with speed, accuracy and confidence. There will also be a trivia competition pitting Watson against teams of students and alumni. Can the computer beat the humans ... again?
