Rensselaer Club of New Jersey Trip to Morristown National Historical Park
| |
Date: 6/16/2012 Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Morristown National Historical Park
Come join the Rensselaer Club of New Jersey as we make our first-ever trip to Morristown National Historical Park. This park consists of three sites that were important during the American Revolutionary War – Jockey Hollow is the site of a Continental Army encampment; Fort Nonsense is believed to have been the site of a signal fire; and the Ford Mansion, on a hilltop in Morristown, was the site of the winter quarters of George Washington and the Continental Army. The mansion also currently has a museum on site. The cost to enter the Ford Mansion is $4, while the other 2 areas are free. All costs will be paid by the individual on the day of the event. The RCNJ group will meet at 10 a.m. at the Ford Mansion for a tour, and then visit the Fort and Jockey Hollow on our own. We look forward to seeing you there! |
