This spectacular and free event is held May 14 and 15. Witness incredible aerial demonstrations by the USAF Thunderbirds, the Breitling Jet Team, and the Geico Skytypers. Watch planes take off and scream into the air from the runway only hundreds of yards in front of you. Register and receive additional information to help plan your day. This is one of several public events we are promoting to alumni in New Jersey this year. These fun and educational events are science and technology related, and may inspire a child to enter the field someday.
Alumni, friends, and fans are invited to join us at the 19th Annual RPI Football Golf Tournament. The event will be held at the Frear Golf Course in Troy, NY. All of the proceeds generated will go directly to Let’s Go Red!-Football, helping with such things as equipment, uniforms, team travel, and recruiting. Sponsorship opportunities also exist. Join fellow Rensselaer alumni for this unique opportunity. The event will feature a fascinating lecture titled “Some things I wish I didn't know about the Brooklyn Bridge and the Roebling family.” Rensselaer Alumni Hall of Fame members Washington A. Roebling (Class of 1857) and his wife Emily Warren Roebling famously finished the design and construction of the Brooklyn Bridge after the death of its original designer and Washington's father, John A. Roebling.
Join us for this free event, which will take place rain or shine. Begin the day with a tour of the J.J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory. Scientists will be on hand to explain their research and answer questions. After lunch, a bus will take us to sites in Fort Hancock to see gun batteries that guarded New York and the once-secret complex that housed Nike Missiles. There will be numerous activities on-site for the kids, including a scavenger hunt, activities at the beach, and educational games. And, don't forget about the picturesque Sandy Hook Lighthouse, which is the oldest working lighthouse in the U.S.
