The Office of Alumni Relations understands the value of connecting Rensselaer students with alumni for jobs, co-ops, history, and perspective on their alma mater. Throughout your time on campus, you will have opportunities to interact with alumni though many of the student organizations you belong to.
There are close to 90,000 alumni worldwide, in an amazing variety of fields. They will help you:
- Find an internship
- Secure a co-op
- Give you career advice
- Help you land a job after you graduate
- Guide you as you adjust to life in a new city
Red & White Student Organization (Become a Fan )
Students are welcome to apply to become part of the Red & White Student Organization. As a member of this popular and professional group, you will have the opportunity to network with alumni, develop leadership and communication skills, build career contacts, and participate in university, presidential, and alumni events. Members also help to promote the traditions of Rensselaer, guide seniors through the transition from students to alumni, and instill a sense of pride in the Institute. For more information on how to become a member of the Red & White Student Organization, visit our website at http://redandwhite.alumni.rpi.edu.
The Red & White Student Organization sponsors several programs that allow you to interact with alumni:
A series of programs throughout your senior year that will guide you through the transition from student to alumni. The series gives you the tools you’ll need to grow personally and professionally. For more information and a list of programs, click here.
The Red & White Student Organization, in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Relations, started the Traditions Program to instill a sense of pride at Rensselaer. The Red & White Student Organization sponsors a program during the Rensselaer designated study days. For more information on the Study Days @ the Heffner Alumni House program, click here.
Many students are interested in pursuing specific career fields. We encourage all students to work through the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) to connect with companies about the potential for employment. However, if you are struggling to find information about specific companies or interest fields, we may be able to help connect you with alumni who can help. If you’d like to be connected with an alumnus/a to ask specific questions, contact Geoff Seber to set up an appointment at firstname.lastname@example.org.
