A Message from Your Chapter President
I would first like to thank all of you who joined us over the past year at our many Hudson Mohawk Chapter events. Your support and the hard work of the Chapter officers brought us the Alumni Chapter of the Year award, but we do not intend to rest on our laurels.
As summer draws to a close, we have a unique event planned at RPI’s Darrin Fresh Water Institute on Saturday September 13th (there may be one or two openings left).
The day begins with a tour of the David M. Darrin '40 Fresh Water Institute, a multidisciplinary environmental research center of Rensselaer dedicated to understanding the structure and function of aquatic, terrestrial, and atmospheric systems. We will then board The Morgan, The Sagamore Resort's replica 19 century touring boat, which will cruise on the lake while enjoying a Q&A session hosted by Professor Chuck Boylen, Associate Director of the Darrin Fresh Water Institute and 2013 Winner of the Darrin Counseling Award.
With Fall’s cooler temperatures on the way (along with football season), we have some great events planned for autumn. First, on September 27, there will be a Chapter BBQ Tailgating event before the RPI vs. WPI men’s football game.
Late October brings the annual Beer Tasting with Bill Woodring, always a popular event that sells out.
Of course do not forget to get your hockey tickets. Dues-paid members of the Hudson Mohawk Alumni Chapter may buy 2014-15 Men's Hockey Tickets at discounted rates. Register online by September 21, 2014.
Your Alumni Chapter officers have more events planned for Winter/Spring 2014/15, so keep an eye out for our email updates and as always please send us feedback on the types of events you would like to see the Chapter host.
Jonathan Sefcik, ‘05G
President, Hudson Mohawk Chapter

For over a decade, the Hudson Mohawk Retirees Group has been a vital sub-group of the Hudson Mohawk Chapter. The group coordinates six events per year, three in the spring and three in the fall. The events are usually behind-the-scenes tours of manufacturing, industrial plants, and businesses, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
